JEWELRY DESIGN
I’m (also) a trained jeweler!
These pieces were also made during my program at VCUarts, although I continued a short-lived career in jewelry repair afterward. I enjoyed making sculptural pieces that adorned and decorated the body in what some could call “impractical” ways. Naturally, corporate jewelry didn’t quite scratch that itch.
Thank you for continuing to look at my art - it means a lot to me :]
KINGDOMS
A pair of rings telling the story of a young girl who couldn’t decide if she wanted to be a prince or a princess.
Both rings were cast from identical wax molds, then modified into two separate forms/identities.
Sterling Silver, Brass. 2015
FIGMENTS
A series of abstract rings made to personify three fictional women.
Faye is a young and naive mother with unrealistic dreams.
Ellie is a lonely young girl with self-destructive habits.
Regina is a beautiful woman who wishes she were born a man.
Sterling Silver, 2015.
THE PRINCE
A piece made for a girl who wanted to be a prince.
Brass, Mixed Media, 2016.
BLUSH
An ear cuff completely recycled from the sprues of “Kingdoms”
Sterling Silver, 2014
BAD IMPRESSION
A mouthpiece dedicated to all the words I knew I should’ve kept to myself, but ended up saying anyways.
Or as the great Cady Heron put it, sometimes it keeps coming up like word vomit.
Sterling Silver, Hard Candy, 2014.
